The Lyons concluded the fall portion of their regular season last weekend, earning High Point College honors at their home show. First year Indra Rapinchuk-Souccar (Cummington, Mass.) led the way, capturing overall high point rider and novice high point rider honors. Mount Holyoke is now idle until December 3rd when it travels to Ohio to compete at the Holiday Tournament of Champions event.
Mount Holyoke suffered a 199-88 loss to Wellesley last week. The Lyons were paced by first year diver Samantha Nemivant (Scottsdale, Ariz.), who won off both boards and qualified for the NCAA Diving Regionals next semester. Mount Holyoke (1-3), returns to action on December 2-3 when they travel to Hamilton College to compete in the Hamilton Invitational. Action begins on Friday at 4pm, with action concluding on Saturday starting at 10am.
The Lyons shouldered losses to Bates (9-0), Wesleyan (7-2) and Hamilton (7-2) last week. Sophomore Ragini Ghose went 2-0 in action against the Cardinals and Continentals. Mount Holyoke (2-5) returns to the courts on November 28 when it hosts Tufts University at the MHC Squash Courts.
Powered by a 13.8 points per game average from senior captain Xajaah Williams-Flores (The Bronx, N.Y.), the Lyons opened their 2016-17 season with a 2-2 record. Mount Holyoke posted victories over Green Mountain (47-38) and then defeated Albany College of Pharmacy (64-60) to advance to the championship of the ACPHS Tip-Off Tournament. The Lyons (2-2) return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Elms for a 6pm match.
