Coming off of a first place finish in the Zone Championships in the beginning of April, the riding team looks to carry momentum into the IHSA National Championships in Lexington, Va. this week. Action will begin on Thursday and continue on to Sunday.

Mount Holyoke concluded its season last Saturday with a ninth place finish at the NEWMAC Championships hosted by MIT. First year Alicia Moroyoqui (Groton, Conn.) had the top finish with a time of 5:12.34 in the mile run, good for eighth place, while sophomore Corrin Moss (Columbus, Ohio) finished right on her hip in a time of 5:13.74 for ninth.
Mount Holyoke concluded its season last Wednesday in an 11-10 nailbiter against Smith College. Despite a late goal by junior midfielder Kaitlin Braz (Tolland, Conn.), the Lyons comeback fell short. Braz posted three goals and seven ground balls in the effort.

The Lyons were back on the water at the 2017 NEWMAC Championships on Lake Quinsigamond last Saturday, placing fourth overall in the team standings. Senior Azulina Green (Austin, Texas) and junior Ariya Lawson (Washington, D.C.) each earned NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team honors for their efforts. Mount Holyoke returns to Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester on Saturday when it competes at the New England Rowing Championships.
