Lyons Tales: A Review & Preview of Mount Holyoke Athletics for Jan. 15th

Mount Holyoke returns to action on Saturday when it takes part in the Winter 1 Classic of the Tournament of Champions, hosted by Ohio University.


Mount Holyoke returned to the pool in a pair of road tri-matches last week. The Lyons defeated Clark and fell to Wheaton to open the action, before falling to Vassar and Trinity on Saturday. Sophomore diver Samantha Nemivant (Scottsdale, Ariz.) paced the efforts, posting three victories, including two on the 1-meter, and a runner-up on the 3-meter. MHC (1-3) is back in action this week at home when it hosts the 2018 Seven Sisters Championship at the pool within the Kendall Sports & Dance Complex. This year's event gets underway at 10am on Saturday with the opening session. Session II begins at 4:15pm, while the final day of action begins on Sunday at 9:30am. Mount Holyoke returned to the courts last week, shouldering a tough loss to #20 Wesleyan on the road. The Lyons (4-2) are back in action this weekend beginning Friday with a 5pm match at Williams. MHC then travels to Amherst to take on Dickinson (8am) and Connecticut College (4pm) for day one of action at the Pioneer Valley Invitational. The squad concludes the weekend at home, wrapping up the PVI with matches against Hamilton (9am) and St. Lawrence (2pm).


The Lyons suffered losses to Emerson, Clark and Wheaton last week in NEWMAC action. MHC (0-14; 0-8 NEWMAC) is right back in action on Monday, traveling to Green Mountain College for a 5:30pm game. The Lyons then host Coast Guard on Wednesday at 7pm before closing out the week on Saturday with a 1pm home tip-off against Bryn Mawr. Fans can follow all the action live (when available) at
