Mount Holyoke offers 14 varsity sports programs and a number of competitive club sports teams. A member of the NCAA Division III and the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), the College competes among many top-ranked teams and longtime local rivals. As associate director, Hendricks has overseen compliance and eligibility, coaches’ personnel reviews, and student-athlete leadership programming. She has served as liaison to MHC’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Captains Forum, and Club Sports Council, as well as tournament director for multiple NEWMAC, Seven Sisters, and ECAC conference championships, and as a facilitator for the NCAA’s national and regional student-athlete conferences.

Hendricks replaces Laurie Priest, who was chair of the Department of Physical Education and director of athletics at Mount Holyoke from 1989 till June of 2013.

Prior to her work at Mount Holyoke, Hendricks was a research associate for the National Forum on Higher Education for the Public Good at the University of Michigan. While at Michigan, she served as the president’s liaison to the university’s NCAA certification team and as special consultant to the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics. From 1996 to 2001, Hendricks served as the education outreach program coordinator for the NCAA.

Hendricks earned her bachelor of arts degree in politics and economics from Mount Holyoke and a master's degree in sport management from Ohio State University. She also holds a Ph.D. in higher education from the University of Michigan.
