Barrett joined the Mount Holyoke basketball coaching staff in the fall of 2018.
A native of Berlin, Connecticut played her collegiate basketball career at Smith College. During her tenure, the team broke numerous records and were named an ESPN Women's Team to watch as they competed in the 2013 NCAA Tournament. A captain during her senior season, she was also named to the Marly Pineda Pioneer Team for the second straight season. She graduated with a double-major in English and Education in 2015, finishing her final two season's on the Dean's List at the liberal arts college, which was ranked among the top-15. Prior to her senior season at Smith, Barrett spent the summer studying at Oxford University, focusing on literature and teaching methods, while also traveling throughout England and Ireland.
The former Berlin High School standout, who competed all four years and was a captain, also competed for the Connecticut Spirit organization.
Barrett has worked many camps throughout New England, including in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Since 2014, she has run her own camp alongside her father, mentor, and Spirit coach, Tim Barrett. She has worked vigorously with both Spirit and high school teams in the past. Barrett had began her teaching career with the West Hartford Public Schools system where she also coached, but has spent the last three years teaching students in the New Britain Schools system. Currently she is pursuing a Master’s Degree in TESOL at Post University. She plans to continue to teach English and coach women's basketball throughout her life.
