Lyons soccer hosts Amherst on Thursday, September 7th at 7pm.

THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke makes its home debut after a two-game road swing to kick-off 2017. The Lyons welcome the Mammoths of Amherst College for the 29th all-time meeting between the two programs. THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (1-1-0) opened the 2017 campaign in solid fashion last week, falling to UMass-Dartmouth (3-2 2OT) before besting Albertus Magnus (6-1). In the victory over the Falcons, the Lyons saw senior forward Sara Sanau Ruiz tally a pair of goals, while junior goalie Amanda Manaster earned the victory with four stops.

The squad not only won the NESCAC Championship, but also advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. Amherst returns three of its top-five scorers from a year ago, including the leading scorer Hannah Guzzi, who recorded 19 goals and five assists for 43 points in 2016.
