HANOVER, N.H. – Sophomore Charleen Theroux had an outstanding performance today at the Open New England Championships, hosted by Dartmouth College. Theroux concluded her season with her best performance to-date.
Theroux (Coventry, R.I./Coventry) came into the Championships ranked 27th in the 400-meter dash, but finished 13th overall and fifth in her heat. The Rhode Island native registered a career-best time of 58.07.
She has continued to improve all season. The sophomore started competing in the 400m dash at the Springfield Invitational, where she recorded a time of 1:01.27. She then cut her time down to 58.63 at the NEWMAC Championships, followed by a 58.51 mark at the New England DIII Championships.
