SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- Mount Holyoke head basketball coach Abby Wemhoff has announced the appointment of recent Regis College graduate assistant Lauren Jennings as the Lyons' full-time assistant coach.
Jennings coached at Regis for the past two seasons, leading and supporting daily operations for the Division III program, including practice planning, on-court coaching, scouting, video analysis, and film sessions. She oversaw equipment operations and coordinated team logistics, while also producing and managing digital content for the team's social media. She coached at Regis while earning a master's degree in digital marketing communication.
"I am ecstatic to add Lauren to our staff," said Wemhoff. "She is a rising star in the coaching world who brings a wealth of hands-on experience in player development, scouting, and program operations from Regis College. She knows exactly what goes into building and sustaining a successful program -- from the X's and O's to building a powerful social media presence. Her passion for mentoring student-athletes makes her a perfect fit for our culture."
Jennings graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Providence in 2024 with a bachelor's degree in sports, entertainment and event management. She played basketball at Johnson & Wales for four seasons and was a team representative on the JWU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
"I am incredibly excited to join the Mount Holyoke College community and begin this next chapter," Jennings said. "From my first conversations with the department, it was clear that Mount Holyoke's commitment to academic excellence, inclusivity, and student-athlete development closely aligns with my own values. The supportive and empowering environment they have cultivated makes this a truly special place.
"The level of competition in the NEWMAC is undeniable, and I am honored to be part of such a respected conference. I look forward to working alongside Coach Wemhoff to help our student-athletes succeed while contributing to the continued growth of the program."
