2009 Volleyball Season in Review
August 01, 2010Led by second year head coach Sonnie Terrell, the Mount Holyoke volleyball team registered an overall record of 4-22 in 2009. The rebuilding Lyons went winless in league play. They captured the NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award for the third year in a row. -
Awards Handed Out at Annual Athletic Banquet
May 06, 2010The Mount Holyoke College Department of Athletics hosted its annual awards celebration this evening in Chapin Auditorium. Individuals from all 14 varsity teams were honored. Squash Head Coach Allen Fitzsimmons served as the events emcee. Soccer team member Lauren Orr earned the prestigious Alumnae Association Scholar-Athlete Award. -
Seniors Honored at Scholar Athlete Reception
May 06, 2010Prior to the annual athletics awards celebration this evening, 17 Mount Holyoke seniors representing 11 teams were honored as part of the College's second annual Scholar Athlete Reception. The recognition event highlighted those student-athletes who have excelled both on the field and in the classroom. -

Award Winning Documentary Filmmaker Jenny Mackenzie to Speak at Mount Holyoke
January 13, 2010Award winning documentary filmmaker and well known motivational speaker Jenny Mackenzie will be visiting Mount Holyoke College on Tuesday, February 2 at 6:30 p.m. to present her new film entitled "Kick Like A Girl." Her appearance will highlight the Colleges National Girls and Women in Sports Day celebration. -

NEWMAC Announces Fall Academic All-Conference Squads
November 11, 2009The NEWMAC recently announced its 2009 Fall Academic All-Conference Teams. Twenty-one Mount Holyoke College student-athletes were recognized for their achievements in their respective sports as well as in the classroom. Academic All-Conference Teams were selected for the sports of cross country, field hockey, soccer, tennis and volleyball. -
Volleyball Picks Up NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award
November 10, 2009The New England Womens and Mens Athletic Conference recently announced its womens volleyball award winners for the 2009 season. Mount Holyoke College earned its third consecutive NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award. -

Volleyball Topped by MIT in Season Finale, 3-0
October 31, 2009The Mount Holyoke volleyball team fell 3-0 to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in its 2009 season finale this afternoon at the Rockwell Cage. Leading the way for the Lyons was sophomore setter Kateryna Kuc, who posted four kills and four assists. -
Volleyball Falls to Smith, 3-0
October 27, 2009The Mount Holyoke volleyball team suffered a 3-0 setback to local rival Smith this evening in NEWMAC action at Ainsworth Gymnasium. The Lyons were paced by first year outside hitter Kathryn Brummer, who tallied four kills and four digs. -
