SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- The Mount Holyoke College volleyball team again repeated as a Team Academic Honor Roll honoree, awarded to the top 20 percent of Division III women's volleyball teams in team grade point average, for the 2024-25 academic year, as announced Monday by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
The Lyons were among a record 1,450 volleyball programs earning the AVCA Team Academic Award, sponsored by INTENT. Initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, the award honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale. Mount Holyoke boasted a team GPA exceeding 3.80 for the academic year, while finishing with a double-digit win total for the third straight year at 13-13.
In December, the team placed the maximum four players on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, in Madeline Barton, Lucie Berclaz, Sadie Duffrin and Amelia Ringor.
The AVCA's mission is to advance the sport of volleyball with AVCA coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development. The membership includes more than 9,500 collegiate, professional, high school, club, and youth volleyball coaches—primarily in the United States.
