KEENE, N.H. - Three runners finished in the top-45 to lead the Mount Holyoke College cross country team at the 2013 Keene State Invitaitonal, hosted by Keene State College. No team scores were kept at the 5k event, which featured 152 runners. Highlighting the effort for the Lyons was junior captain Dana Fry, who was 12th overall.
Fry posted a time of 19:42 in today's race and was followed by sophomore Elizabeth DeLeon, who was 29th overall with a time of 20:20. Senior captain Lucia Garcia also had a strong effort on the day, placing 42nd with a time of 20:58.
Junior Liz Baker posted a time of 21:22 to finish 52nd overall, while sophomore Hillary Detert was 56th with a mark of 21:29. Sophomore Rosalind Walt-Peters finished 61st with a time of 21:40 and was closely followed by first year Brianna Weir, who was 69th with a time of 22:04.
Other solid performers for the Lyons include junior Zoe Weizenbaum, who was 81st with a time of 22:23. First years Emma Tolerton and Becca Rogers rounded out the day in 94th (23:09) and 102nd (23:28), respectively.
Mount Holyoke returns to action next Saturday when it competes at the Open New England Championships, which will take place in Boston.
