Swimming and diving takes on Trinity and Vassar in double dual meet

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Mount Holyoke College swimming and diving team faced off against Vassar College and Trinity College Monday afternoon in a non-conference double dual meet at Vassar. Vassar outscored Mount Holyoke 178-105, and Trinity outscored the Lyons 225-65.

Top event performances and highlights by Mount Holyoke included:

  • First-year Katherine Upton (Cambridge, Mass.) placed second in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, with 141.67 and 131.70 points, respectively.
  • Senior captain Kamlyn Yosick (Portland, Ore.) was a key participant in both the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay. Yosick also placed fifth in the 100-yard freestyle (59.25) and sixth in the 50-yard freestyle (26.75).
  • Sophomore Isabel Dunn (Harbor Springs, Mich.) placed fourth in both the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events (1:02.82; 2:26.54), as well as placing fifth in the 200-yard individual medley (2:23.61).
  • Senior Hannah Heierhoff (Wiesbaden, Germany) placed fourth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:13.21) and fifth in the 500-yard freestyle (6:03.30).
  • Senior Megan Schneider (Newton, Mass.) placed fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.00).

The Lyons will host the Sisters Invitational this Saturday and Sunday, with teams from Smith, Simmons, Westfield State and Wellesley participating.
