Field hockey repeats as NFHCA National Academic Team; 18 Lyons named to National Academic Squad

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Mount Holyoke College field hockey team again raked in a multitude of academic honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association for the 2025 season, with 18 team members named to the National Academic Squad, three named Scholars of Distinction, and the entire team capturing the National Academic Team Award.

The Lyons received NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award Tuesday for achieving an average Fall 2025 semester grade point average above 3.50.

Four MHC team members won NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction honors for finishing the semester with a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher: first-year Carmella Beach (Takoma Park, Md.), junior Emily Bisson (Manchester, N.H.), first-year Sophia Ellison (Rutland, Vt.), and sophomore Aarya Phadnis (Mountain View, Calif.).

Eighteen MHC team members were named to the National Academic Squad for maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. In addition to the four Scholars of Distinction mentioned above, they are: junior Linnea Alsted (Crownsville, Md.), sophomore Dillon Davis (Waterford, Vt.), senior Ainsley Gruener (Topsfield, Mass.), junior Lily Guerrera (Fairfield, Conn.), first-year Leah Harding (Grafton, Mass.), sophomore Heidi Hausmann (Ashland, Mass.), junior Mackenzie Hillman (Newington, Conn.), first-year Ana Kalliavas (Revere, Mass.), junior Diane Lee (Boston, Mass.), sophomore MJ Owens (Fairfield, Conn.), junior Alexina Peckinpaugh (Windsor, Vt.), senior Ashley Scott (South Hadley, Mass.), sophomore Juliana Spaulding (Wakefield, Mass.), and senior Taylor Vettori (Etna, N.H.).

Scott and Vettori won the honor for the fourth time in their respective careers.
