Chase and Frick Split "Lyon of the Week" Award
Sophomore defender Tricia Chase and senior forward Katelyn Frick have earned a share of the “Lyon of the Week” award for the week of September 14-20. The duo helped lead the Mount Holyoke field hockey team to a perfect 2-0 mark at the 25th Seven Sisters Classic over the weekend. In Saturday's 4-0 victory over host Bryn Mawr College, Chase set up senior midfielder Peggy Wefald for what proved to be the match winner just 14:31 into the contest. Meanwhile, Frick assisted on sophomore forward Jess Fajardo's second tally of the day and later scored one of her own. Chase was also credited with the assist on the match winner in Mount Holyoke 2-0 triumph over Wilson College on Sunday. The contest went scoreless until the 57th minute, when her shot was redirected into the cage by senior forward Mary Kate Switchenko. Frick iced things with her second goal of the tournament ten minutes later. At the conclusion of the weekend, both players were named to the All-Classic Team. Mount Holyoke has now posted four consecutive shutouts in Seven Sisters play. The Lyons have posted a 3-1 mark thus far this season. Thieir lone loss came at Nichols College on Tuesday.
