Tennis Overpowers Union, but Falls to Brandeis

The Lyons finish the day with a 9-11 record for the year and a 3-6 record for the spring season with a strong win against Union (6-3) and a disappointing loss to Brandeis (3-6).

During the first match of the day against Union, Aleksandra Mihailovic '07 (Sibenik, Croatia), Helena Jedziniak '10 (Columbia S.C.), and Sarah London '10 (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) all played strong singles matches to secure the win for the Lyons. Ashley Fallon '09 (Mansfield, Mass.) faced a heartbreaking loss in three sets. MHC put together three great doubles matches to sweep the set.

Afternoon play against Brandeis proved more difficult for the Lyons. In singles play, Helena Jedziniak '10 (Columbia S.C.), and Sarah London '10 (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) both won their respective singles matches, but this was not enough to pull off of the win for the Lyons. Sarah London '10 (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) and Beatrix Hartmann '10 (Redding, Conn.) played a hard fought match giving the Lyons their only doubles points of the match.

MHC will host WNEC on Wednesday April 18th for a 4:00 p.m. match.
