Tennis Announces 2009-10 Fall Schedule
???SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (July 28, 2009) - The Mount Holyoke College tennis team recently announced the fall portion of its 2009-10 schedule. The Lyons will open their season at home against New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) foe Wheaton College on Saturday, September 12.
Seventeenth year head coach Aldo Santiago has lined up ten regular season matches. Six of those will take place at the Mount Holyoke Tennis Courts.
Mount Holyoke is slated to take part in eight NEWMAC contests. In addition to facing off against Connecticut College and Simmons College in out-of-league play, the Lyons will also take part in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Championships from Friday, September 18 through Sunday, September 20. They will later compete in the New England Women's Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament (NEWITT) from Friday, October 16 through Sunday, October 18.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology will be the host of this year's NEWMAC Tournament. Quarterfinal Round action of will take place on Satuday, October 24. Both the Semifinals and the Championship will be the following day.
