THE MATCHUPS: Saturday's matchup marks the season finale for the Mount Holyoke tennis team as it wraps-up its 2012-13 schedule. The Lyons welcome Roger Williams for a 10:30am match and will celebrate its seniors - Nahrhee Han and My-Linh Nguyen - as well. All-time, the Lyons hold a 5-0 advantage over the Hawks, including a 7-2 victory last year in South Hadley.
THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke concludes its 2012-13 schedule against the Hawks and enter with a 10-9 mark. The Lyons are coming off a 2-2 record at the 2013 Seven Sisters Championship last weekend. MHC fell to Wellesley and Vassar, but defeated Bryn Mawr and Smith to finish third overall. The second doubles team of My-Linh Nguyen and Michelle Cai had an outstanding performance, winning three of four matches to be named to the All-Seven Sisters Tournament Team. Over 19 matches this season, the Lyons have seen a number of strong efforts. First year Margaux Holloschutz is 13-3 in singles action, including an 8-1 mark in the sixth flight, while junior Eman Malik is 13-7 with a 9-3 record at four. Doubles action has seen Nguyen and Holloschutz combine for a 10-3 record, while Nguyen also has a 3-1 mark with Cai.
THE HAWKS: Roger Williams comes into this weekend's matchup with a 10-8 overall record. The Hawks fell in their most recent outing, an 8-1 defeat at the hands of Simmons. The Sharks swept the doubles competition before going five for six in singles. Sophomore Alexandra Brown picked up the lone point for Roger Williams, defeating Rachael Downey 6-1, 7-5 in the number four spot. On the season, Brown has a 6-3 record, playing mostly fourth through sixth singles. Junior Hillary Dutton has a 9-3 mark, including an 8-3 record at fourth singles, while first year Adriana Maconochie is 9-3 with a 6-3 record at fifth singles. In doubles action, junior Samantha Curran and senior Tracy Klein have combined for a 10-4 mark in the first flight, while Dutton and Maconochie own at 7-2 record in the second flight.
