Lyons take first place at Williams College Show

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- To end the double header weekend, the Mount Holyoke hunt seat riding team went to Bonnie Lea Farm for the Williams College Show on Sunday, and took first place among 11 teams, outscoring runner-up UMass-Amherst 46-36.

In Open fences, junior Eliza Mutz went into the ring on Isaac and placed first. Up next, Lainey Nibbio, also on Isaac, placed first in Section A of Limit Fences. In Section B of Limit Fences, Bessie Huggins placed second, also on Isaac.

Next up was Intermediate Fences. In Section A, captain Charlie May placed first, Charlotte Subak placed second, and Carly Bitler placed sixth. In Section B, Emi Graf placed first, and Montse Hartwig placed sixth.

After a busy flat schooling, Open Flat went into the ring. Subak placed fifth and Lili Evans placed just out of ribbons in a very competitive class.

Salome Hizanishvili went into the ring for Novice Section A and placed first. Maddie Bradley-Burns placed first in Novice Section B.

In Section A of Intermediate Flat, Grace Neumuth placed first. In Section B, Graf placed second and in Section C, May placed third.

First year Abby Hepp placed first in her Pre-Novice IHSA debut. In Introductory Section A, Emma Tsui placed first, also her IHSA debut. In Intro Section B, Milly Chen placed first, and in Section C, Natsume Maeda placed third.

Last in the ring was Limit Flat. In Section A, Sophia Bull placed first, and in Section C, Huggins placed fourth.

Graf entered the ring again for High Point ride-off and ended as Overall High Point Rider.
