The equestrian team is back in action on January 26th, when it competes at the Winter Tournament of Champions in Virginia.
The Lyons (6-2) had a solid week after posting victories over Clark (168-69) and Simmons (160-97). MHC fell by a slim margin to Wheaton (123-113) and were led by multiple individual efforts along the way. Posting six victories was first year Cathleen Pruden (Raleigh, N.C.), who captured five individual wins on the week, including three in the tri-match against Clark and Wheaton. The Lyons are now idle till this weekend when they travel to Wellesley to compete in the Seven Sisters Championship on Saturday and Sunday. Action begins at 10am both days.
Mount Holyoke suffered an 0-3 week despite a number of strong performances. Senior guard Angelica Pascual (Lawrence, Mass.) became just the 11th player in school history to reach 1,000 career points, posting 14 total in a 74-43 loss to Wellesley. Meanwhile, sophomore forward Amber Legare (Chicopee, Mass.) poured in a career-high 22 points in a 67-54 loss at WPI.
The Lyons (3-10; 1-7 NEWMAC) are back on the court on Wednesday, hosting Springfield at 7pm at the Mildred S. Howard Gymnasium. MHC then travels to Wellesley on Saturday for a 2pm contest at Wellesley.

Mount Holyoke (2-4) shouldered three losses last week, dropping contests at #3 Trinity (9-0), #11 Middlebury (7-2) and #10 Williams (8-1). Junior captain Randima Ranaweera (Colombo, Sri Lanka) battled to two victories during the week, including a tough-fought 6-11, 11-6, 11-13, 12-10, 11-9 victory against Middlebury. The Lyons are back in action on Saturday when they host their first home games of the season against Wesleyan (9am) and Wellesley (12:30pm) as part of the Pioneer Valley Invitational.
The Lyons return to competition on Saturday at Smith College's Beynon Invitational at 11am.
