SOCCER
Mount Holyoke went 1-1 last week, defeating Bay Path by a 9-0 margin, before falling at Wheaton, 4-0. Sophomore Hannah Yee (Amherst, Mass.) paced the Lyons in their victory with four goals and an assist. Mount Holyoke (2-6-1; 1-2-0 NEWMAC) is back in action on Tuesday with a 4pm contest against WPI at home. They Lyons then travel to MIT on Saturday for a 5pm game.

FIELD HOCKEY
The Lyons shouldered a tough 3-1 loss at Wesleyan, but rebounded with a 6-0 victory over NEWMAC-rival, Wheaton. Senior forward Angelica Pascual (Lawrence, Mass.) had a record-setting day, tallying five goals for 10 points to set the program’s single-game record in both categories. Additionally, she tied the single-game record for shots with 16. Mount Holyoke (5-3; 2-0 NEWMAC) returns to the field on Tuesday in a 7pm contest at WPI. The Lyons then welcome MIT on Saturday at MHC Turf Field at 1pm. That game will also be Mount Holyoke’s Playing 4 The Cure game.

TENNIS
Mount Holyoke sent two individuals to the ITA Regional Championships, hosted by MIT last week. Senior Nahrhee Han (Albertson, N.Y.) and junior AnnElizabeth Konkel (Camp Hill, Pa.) faced tough opponents in their singles matches, both falling in the opening round. The pair then combined in doubles, but fell against the fifth-seeded pair. The Lyons (2-2; 1-1 NEWMAC) are back on the courts on Tuesday in a 5pm home match against Clark. VOLLEYBALL
The Lyons went 1-1 last week, falling to Babson by a 3-0 margin before grabbing a 3-0 victory of their own at Norwich. First year Emma Sweeting (Hasting-on-Hudson, N.Y.) added a match-best 11 kills, five service aces and nine digs. Mount Holyoke (3-6; 0-4 NEWMAC) returns to the court on Tuesday, hosting NEWMAC-foe Springfield at Mildred S. Howard Gymnasium. The Lyons close out the week at the Seven Sisters Championship, hosted at Bryn Mawr. MHC will face Smith (12:30pm) and Wellesley (3pm) on Saturday, before squaring off against Vassar (9am) and the host Owls (11:30am) on Sunday.
CROSS COUNTRY
Mount Holyoke competed at the Keene State Invitational last week and finished second of six teams at the meet. The Lyons were led by first year Elizabeth DeLeon (Boise, Idaho), who finished fourth overall in the 5k event with a time of 19:42. MHC is back on the course on Saturday when it competes at the James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State University. The race is set to begin at 12pm.
GOLF
The Lyons took part in the Middlebury Invitational last weekend, finishing seventh of 10 squads at the meet. Mount Holyoke was paced by a second-place finish from sophomore Madi Mendiola (San Diego, Calif.), who shot a combined 155 and was just two strokes behind the first-place finisher. The Lyons are back on the links this weekend, competing at the Williams Fall Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
RIDING
The Lyons, who won the Preseason Tournament of Champions two weeks ago, were idle last week but return to action on Saturday when they compete at the Smith College Horse Show, beginning at 10am.
CREW
The Lyons crew team opened its 2012 campaign on Sunday at the Head of the Riverfront Regatta. Mount Holyoke had six boats compete in the race with the first varsity eight boat finishing fourth overall with a time of 17:43.1, beating out NEWMAC-rival, Coast Guard, which finished sixth. The crew team returns to the water on October 13 when it competes at the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. The action begins at 10am.
