The Lyons were led in victory by seniors Kiana Lussier (South Hadley, Mass.) and Mallory Phaneuf (Manchester, N.H.), who each had a goal and an assist in the contest.

The Lyons (3-12-2; 2-7-0 NEWMAC) also recognized senior Veronica Farmer (Boxborough, Mass.) and Dara Ereshena (Bell Canyon, Calif.) in a pre-game ceremony.

FIELD HOCKEY

The Lyons went 1-1 last week, defeating Westfield State (3-0) before falling in the regular season finale at Babson (4-1). Despite the loss, Mount Holyoke secured the sixth-seed - its 13th straight NEWMAC Quarterfinal berth - and will play at third-seed Wellesley on Wednesday.  The game, which was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but moved due to weather concerns from Hurricane Sandy, will be played at 3pm.

TENNIS

MHC saw its fall schedule come to an end in the NEWMAC Quarterfinals, as the fifth-seeded Lyons fell against fourth-seeded Wheaton (5-1). Mount Holyoke concluded the 2012 portion of its schedule with a 5-5 record, going 4-3 in NEWMAC play.

VOLLEYBALL

The Lyons fell against Smith (3-1) and MIT (3-0) to conclude its 2012 season last week. MHC (3-20; 0-8 NEWMAC) honored its lone senior, Kathryn Brummer (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) prior to the game against the Pioneers.

CROSS COUNTRY

Mount Holyoke had a solid effort at the NEWMAC Championships, finishing seventh of 10 teams at this year's meet. First year Elizabeth DeLeon (Boise, Idaho) was the Lyons top finisher at the meet, placing 25th of 145 runners. MHC will be idle this week, but return on November 10th at the NCAA Regional Championships, hosted by Westfield State at 12pm.

RIDING

The equestrian team, which has won four straight shows, was idle last week. The Lyons look to continue their winning ways on Saturday when they compete at the Amherst Horse Show at 10am.

CREW

The Lyons concluded their fall schedule in style last week, finishing second overall at the Seven Sisters Championship, hosted by Simmons on the Charles River. MHC saw its top varsity boat finish fourth overall, while in the second varsity race, the 'A' boat was third. Capping the outstanding efforts was the first novice boat, which tied with Wellesley for first overall in its race. Mount Holyoke finished tied with the host Sharks at the meet, both were second to Wellesley, which won its fourth straight title.

SWIMMING & DIVING

Led by 15th-year head coach Dave Allen, the Lyons take to the water for their first action of the 2012-13 season on Saturday. MHC will compete in the Betty Spears Relay, hosted by Wellesley, at 1pm. The Lyons are coming off a season in which they finished 6-3 in dual meet action, while also placing third at the Seven Sisters Championships.
