Tennis Celebrates Senior Day With Convincing Win Over Roger Williams
Mount Holyoke celebrated Senior Day with a convincing 7-2 triumph over Roger Williams this afternoon. Sophomore AnnElizabeth Konkel and senior Heather Richardson came out on top at both singles and doubles to set the tone for the Lyons. Richardson and Moore were honored prior to the match.

Tennis Secures Third Place at Seven Sisters Championship
The 2012 Seven Sisters Tennis Championship concluded today with five more matches at Mount Holyoke. Vassar pulled out a thrilling 3-2 triumph over Wellesley in the final contest of the day to secure its 10th title. The Lyons topped Smith 4-1 to clinch third place for the third straight year.

2012 Seven Sisters Tennis Championship (Day 1)
The 2012 Seven Sisters Tennis Championship kicked off today with five matches at Mount Holyoke. Reigning champion Wellesley picked up right where it left off in 2011, blanking both the Lyons and Smith. After rolling to a 5-0 triumph over Bryn Mawr, Mount Holyoke fell 5-0 to Wellesley. The tournament will conclude with five more matches tomorrow.

Mount Holyoke Set to Host 2012 Seven Sisters Tennis Championship
Mount Holyoke is set to host the 2012 Seven Sisters Tennis Championship this weekend. The Lyons will be joined at the annual event by Bryn Mawr, Smith, Vassar and Wellesley. Tournament play is slated to begin on Saturday and conclude on Sunday. Wellesley claimed its 12th title last season with a 4-0 record.

Tennis Sees Winning Streak Snapped at RPI
After picking up consecutive victories over Connecticut College and Puerto Rico Mayaguez, Mount Holyoke dropped a 6-3 decision to RPI this afternoon at Sharp Courts. The Lyons are slated to host the annual Seven Sisters Championship next weekend. They have gone 2-2 thus far this spring.

Lyons Game Day Central: Tennis vs. Puerto Rico Mayaguez
Mount Holyoke welcomes Puerto Rico Mayaguez to South Hadley for a non-conference contest this afternoon (4:30 p.m.) at the Tennis Courts. The Lyons have come out on top in four of the previous seven meetings between the programs. They picked up a thrilling 5-4 triumph over the Bulldogs during their spring break trip in 2010. This is the first time that the two teams will face off in America.

Mount Holyoke suffered a 9-0 setback to Bates in its spring opener today at the Kendall Sports and Dance Complex Field House. The Lyons were paced by sophomore Eman Malik, who took the second game of her number four singles contest before falling in a match tiebreaker.

Mount Holyoke kicks off its spring slate versus Bates Saturday morning (10:30 a.m.) at the Kendall Sports and Dance Complex Field House. After topping the Bobcats three straight times around the turn of the century, the Lyons have fallen in each of the previous seven meetings between the teams. They suffered a 7-2 setback last season despite strong performances from Maya Sayarath and Eman Malik.

Tennis Team Head Coach Aldo Santiago Named Posse 3 Mentor
Longtime tennis team head coach Aldo Santiago was recently selected to serve as mentor for Mount Holyoke's third class of Posse Foundation scholars. Mount Holyoke began partnering with the Posse Foundation to admit students from high schools in Miami three years ago. This year's group of 10 will begin taking classes in September.

NEWMAC Announces Fall Academic All-Conference Squads
The NEWMAC recently announced its 2011 Fall Academic All-Conference Teams. Twenty-three Mount Holyoke student-athletes were recognized for their achievements in their respective sports as well as in the classroom. Academic All-Conference Teams were selected for the sports of cross country, field hockey, soccer, tennis and volleyball.

Tennis Team Set to Host Youth Clinics
The Mount Holyoke tennis team will be hosting youth tennis clinics during the first two weeks of November. During the clinics, boys and girls ages 8-12 will learn the basics of the forehand, the backhand and the serve. The participants will be grouped by age, ability and experience. In addition to participating in drills and games, they will take part in dynamic warm-up and eye-hand coordination exercises.

Tennis Falls to Wheaton in NEWMAC Quarterfinals
Fifth-seeded Mount Holyoke fell 5-1 to fourth-seeded Wheaton in the Quarterfinal Round of the NEWMAC Tournament this afternoon at Beard Field House. Sophomore Kelsey Brower and senior Heather Richardson led the Lyons with an 8-3 triumph at number three doubles. It was Mount Holyoke's eighth straight trip to the postseason.

Mount Holyoke and Springfield square off in a key NEWMAC match this afternoon (4:00 p.m.) at the Tennis Courts. With a win, the Lyons would qualify for their eighth straight trip to the NEWMAC Tournament. Springfield can also punch its ticket with a victory but would need some help from Clark. The Cougars are hosting Smith this afternoon. Last fall, Mount Holyoke downed the Pride for the 11th straight time, winning by a score of 5-4.

With the win, the Lyons secured a spot in the NEWMAC Tournament for the eighth straight season. They will travel to Wheaton for a Quarterfinal Round match next Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.

With a spot in the NEWMAC Tournament at stake, Mount Holyoke fell 8-1 at Wheaton this afternoon. As a result, the Lyons must now defeat Springfield in order to qualify for their eighth straight trip to the postseason. They will host the Pride on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.

Tennis Races Past Clark For Second Straight Win
Sophomore Maya Sayarath, first year Sarah Anischik, and sophomore AnnElizabeth Konkel each prevailed at both singles and doubles to lead the Mount Holyoke to a convincing 8-1 triumph over Clark this evening at the Corash Tennis Courts. With the win, the Lyons improved to 3-5 on the year. It was their 15th straight win over their NEWMAC counterparts.

Junior Nahrhee Han and sophomore AnnElizabeth Konkel represented Mount Holyoke at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III New England Regional Championship over the weekend. The three-day tournament was hosted by Bates College.

Tennis Takes Down Smith in Dramatic Fashion
Led by junior Nahrhee Han and sophomore AnnElizabeth Konkel, Mount Holyoke picked up a dramatic 5-4 victory over longtime rival Smith this evening. Both players prevailed at singles and doubles for the Lyons, who snapped a five-match slide and earned their first NEWMAC win of the season. It was their fourth straight triumph over the Pioneers.
