AMHERST, Mass. -- On a day with mixed conditions, the Mount Holyoke track and field team had seven student-athletes competing in eight events at the NEICAA Outdoor Championships, also known as Open New Englands, Saturday at UMass-Amherst.

The Lyons did not score any team points for top-eight performances, but had at least two career-best marks at the all-divisions meet.

Lyons highlights included:

  • Senior Elizabeth Gerbi (Orono, Maine) placed 12th in the 3,000 steeplechase in a time of 11:46.43. First-year Megan Gerbi (Orono, Maine) took 17th place in the event in a season-best 12:10.51, with senior Tessa Lancaster (Mansfield, Mass.) coming in 18th place (12:10.70). Megan Gerbi's nearly 10-second PR moved her ahead of Brianna Weir (2015) into fifth place in the event all-time at Mount Holyoke. Lancaster and Elizabeth Gerbi already rank 1-2 in the event all-time at MHC.
  • Junior Elle Rimando (Mililani, Hawaii) placed 13th in the triple jump at 11.08 meters (36'4.25").
  • Junior Katie Earle (East Kingston, N.H.) finished 16th in the 10,000 meters (40:46.36).
  • First-year Sachi Robinson (Staten Island, N.Y.) took 16th place in the 400 hurdles in a season-best time of 1:07.79, remaining fourth on MHC's all-time performance list.
