MARLBOROUGH, Mass. -- Mount Holyoke senior right-side hitter Elle Rimando won NEWMAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week honors on Tuesday, Oct. 14, after she led the Lyons to a pair of 3-0 victories over Clark and Westfield State.

In just six sets of action last week, Rimando (Mililani, Hawaii) had 34 kills on a .375 attack percentage and seven service aces, for an average 5.67 kills and 1.17 aces per set for the week. Rimando ranks second only to senior teammate Madeline Barton (Brookfield, Wis.) in the NEWMAC in both kills per set (3.86) and points per set (4.67), and she is fifth in the league in aces per set (0.63). In conference play, Rimando leads the NEWMAC with 4.06 kills per set.

Also an All-NEWMAC and All-Region track and field student-athlete at Mount Holyoke, Rimando now wins her first conference honor in volleyball.

It is the third time this season Mount Holyoke has boasted the NEWMAC Offensive Player of the Week, after Barton captured the same award on Sept. 2 and Sept. 29.

The Lyons (11-7, 2-3 NEWMAC) take a three-match winning streak into Tuesday night's contest at Wellesley (7-8, 2-3).
