The equestrian team is back in action on Saturday, when it competes at the Winter Tournament of Champions in Virginia.
The Lyons (6-2) finished second overall at the 2013 Seven Sisters Championship last week, posting a combined 754 points, just behind host Wellesley. Overall MHC recorded five victories, including three individual from first year Cathleen Pruden (Raleigh, N.C.), who shattered the meet record, re-set her own MHC record and achieved an NCAA 'B' Cut in the 400-IM.
Mount Holyoke is back in the pool and back to Wellesley on Saturday for a 1pm dual meet against the Blue.
Mount Holyoke went 1-1 last week, defeating Springfield in double-overtime by an 86-82 margin before shouldering a 65-35 loss at Wellesley. Sophomore Kate Karraker (Morgantown, W.V.) poured in a career-best 25 points against the Pride, while shooting a blistering 7-for-7 from three-point range. She tied the program record for threes made in a game, while also setting the record for three-point percentage in a contest (100.0%).
The Lyons (4-11; 2-8 NEWMAC) are back on the court on Wednesday, traveling to Smith for a key 7pm game against the Pioneers. MHC then hosts another critical conference game on Saturday, welcoming Babson for a 1pm match at the Mildred S. Howard Gymnasium.

Mount Holyoke (3-5) went 1-1 last week during its home debut as part of the Pioneer Valley Invitational. Junior captain Randima Ranaweera (Colombo, Sri Lanka) improved to 7-1 on the season with two victories, while senior captain Kathryn Brummer (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) also recorded two wins, her first of the season since battling back from injury.
The Lyons are back on the court on Wednesday with a 7pm match at Connecticut College. MHC closes out the week at the Hamilton Invitational, hosted by Hamilton College. Mount Holyoke will face the host Continentals on Saturday (1pm) and then battle Franklin & Marshall (5:30pm). The Lyons then finish out the invite on Sunday against Northeastern (11am).
The Lyons finished fifth of nine teams at the Beynon Invitational, hosted by Smith. Senior captain Maddie Ballon (Gillette, N.J.) finished second overall in the pole vault with a height of 2.60 meters. The track events were paced by a second-place finish by the Distance Medley Relay team.
Mount Holyoke returns to action on Saturday when it competes in the Springfield College Invitational beginning at 11am.
