Lyons Tales: A Review & Preview of Mount Holyoke Athletics for Feb. 25th

RIDING

The equestrian team returned to competition on Saturday at the UMass Horse Show. The Lyons finished second overall, just one point behind Smith, but remain in a 51-point lead in the Region. Senior Clara Tate had an outstanding show, receiving both Reserved High Point Rider and High Point Intermediate Rider for her rides.

Mount Holyoke is back in action on Saturday when they host the MHC Horse Show at the Equestrian Center. That contest is also the Game of the Week!

SWIMMING & DIVING

The Lyons (7-3) continue to wait for the announcement of the selections to this year's NCAA Championships, which will be held in Texas. Selections will be revealed on March 4 and currently first year Cathleen Pruden is among consideration in the 400-IM event. The National Meet runs from March 20-23.

SQUASH

Mount Holyoke (11-9) waits for individual selections to be announced for the CSA Individual National Championships. That event, which starts on Friday and runs through Sunday, will be held at Trinity College.

TRACK & FIELD

Mount Holyoke returns to action on Friday and Saturday when it competes at the ECAC Championships, hosted at the NYC Armory. 

LACROSSE

Under the direction of sixth-year head coach Miriam Esber, the MHC lacrosse team opens its 2013 campaign on Saturday. The Lyons, which went 6-8 a season ago, welcome Skidmore for a 12pm contest at the MHC Turf Field.

TENNIS

The Lyons return to the courts for their first spring match of the season on Saturday in a 12pm match at Bates. MHC, which is led by 20th-year head coach Aldo Santiago, enters spring portion of its schedule with a 5-5 overall record from the fall which was highlighted by first year Margaux Holloschutz - a 2012 NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team selection.
