SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- The Mount Holyoke College basketball team saw three of its players receive NCAA Division III Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators, with junior Sofia Francisco, senior Alex Twomey and senior Taryn White all winning the award.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Basketball student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the team games/contests.
Francisco (Boston, Mass.), an environmental studies and geography major, led the NEWMAC in blocked shots per game (2.2 bpg) and ranked second in rebounding (10.2 rpg) with 7.0 points per game.
Twomey (Nutley, N.J.), an astronomy major, played and started 24 games and led the Lyons in scoring (10.4 points per game), assists (2.8 apg), and steals (2.5 spg), and also ranked 14th in the NEWMAC with 6.8 rebounds per game. Twomey will graduate with 640 career points and 425 career rebounds in three seasons.
White (Alexandria, Va.), who majors in psychology and Spanish, ranked 12th in the NEWMAC in rebounding (7.0 rpg) and averaged 8.8 points per game. White will graduate with 352 career points and 385 career rebounds in three seasons.
