BOSTON -- The Mount Holyoke College rowing team took advantage of the chance to race in the Women's Collegiate Fours Sunday at the Head of the Charles, and ultimately placed 29th among 40 boats in the division.
Racing for the Lyons were senior coxswain Sarah Plotkin (Duxbury, Mass.), senior Gwyn Munroe (Lyme, N.H.), junior Katrina Holbrook (St. Paul, Minn.), senior Ava Rawlings (New York, N.Y.), and sophomore Ava Garland (Erie, Colo.) in the bow seat.
The Mount Holyoke varsity four finished the famous course in 20:53.185, 29th fastest in a field that included boats from across the country, including Northwestern, UC Santa Barbara, Clemson and Michigan State. Simmons took 28th place in 20:50.140 and Nazareth placed 30th, more than 10 seconds behind the Lyons' time. Carleton posted the winning time of 18:42.633.
Mount Holyoke competes at the Wormtown Chase in Worcester, Mass., this Saturday Oct. 25.
