WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Mount Holyoke College cross country team was in action on Saturday at the 2014 Purple Valley Classic, hosted at Williams College. The Lyons finished 12th of 24 teams at this year's meet, paced by sophomore Becca Rogers, who was 38th overall.
Rogers posted an overall time of 23:53.0 in the 6k to lead Mount Holyoke for the second straight meet. Senior Dana Fry finished 62nd overall with a time of 24:44.8, while junior Elizabeth DeLeon was 72nd overall, crossing the line in a time of 25:05.2.
Sophomore Hannah Rickard ran to 102nd overall with a time of 26:14.2, while first year Sunny Shan was close behind in 108th with a time of 26:34.5. Rounding out the team finishers was sophomore Brianna Weir and first year Mia Barnes, who were 121st (27:30.3) and 142nd (29:38.6), respectively.
Also competing today, in the 5k was sophomore Emma Tollerton, who was 73rd with a time of 24:33.9 and first year Mishra Gargi, who placed 99th with a time of 27:00.3.
The Lyons are back in action next weekend, traveling to New Hampshire to compete in the Keene State Invitational on Saturday.
