NORTON, Mass. -- The Mount Holyoke track and field team fared well at the eight-team Wheaton Invitational on Saturday, outscoring three teams for fifth place on the strength of seven top-five event performances.
Host Wheaton won the team scoring with 156 points, followed by Springfield (116), UMass-Dartmouth (64), Trinity (45.5), Mount Holyoke (42), Babson (35), UMass-Boston (35), and Bridgewater State (22.5). Points were earned for top-eight performances.
Senior star Elle Rimando (Mililani, Hawaii) won the triple jump to lead the Lyons' scoring. The 2025 NCAA Championship competitor had a top mark of 11.09 meters (36'4.75") to lead seven competitors. Rimando also placed fourth in the long jump (4.82 meters).
Other scoring performances for MHC included:
- Sophomore Annika Lackstrom (New London, N.H.) finished third among 17 runners in the 3,000 meters (11:17.59).
- Senior Sarah West (Concord, N.H.) was fourth among 19 runners in the mile at 5:34.01.
- Sophomore Sachi Robinson (Staten Island, N.Y.) placed fourth out of 12 in the 400 meters (1:03.90).
- Sophomore Katherine Herring (New London, N.H.) placed fifth out of 16 in the 1,000 meters (3:16.52).
- First-year Nina Kuzichev (Washington, D.C.) placed eighth out of 17 in the 3,000 meters (11:42.73).
- Mount Holyoke's 4x400 relay team of Robinson, junior Dalia Luckhardt (Cerritos, Calif.), sophomore Bridget Hughes (Easton, Mass.) and Herring finished third out of nine teams in 4:26.92.
Mount Holyoke competes at Tufts University next Saturday, Feb. 14.
