EASTON, Mass. -- Senior Elle Rimando took third place in the triple jump and sophomore Annika Lackstrom finished eighth in the 3,000 steeplechase on Saturday to score team points for Mount Holyoke at the NEICAAA Outdoor Championships at Stonehill College.
The two Lyons combined for seven team points, worth a tie with Assumption for 18th place among 23 scoring teams for MHC at the all-divisions meet, seventh among 10 Division III teams.
Rimando triple jumped a season-best 11.36 meters (37'3.25") to place third among 14 competitors and first in DIII, trailing only Hawaye Adams of American International and Kaia Eder of Stonehill.
Lackstrom (Lebanon, N.H.) completed the 3,000 steeplechase in 12:30.54, more than 23 seconds under her previous career-best time, to place eighth. Lackstrom moved onto the Lyons' top 10 all-time performance list in the event in eighth place, passing Joan Meiners (2008), Emily Hood (2022), and Felicia Cordero (2012) on the list.
Senior Sarah West (Concord, N.H.) finished the 5,000 meters in 19:11.60 on Friday evening, 14th overall and third among Division III runners. On Saturday morning, West took 13th place in the 1,500 meters in 5:09.45, fifth among DIII runners.
Senior Katie Earle (East Kingston, N.H.) finished 10th out of 15 runners and sixth among Division III runners on Friday in the 10,000 meters, in 41:10.79.
Rimando will compete on Thursday at the MIT Final Qualifier in a bid to return to the DIII Outdoor Championships.
