MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- The Mount Holyoke College track and field team competed in its first outdoor meet of 2026 on Saturday at Wesleyan University's Elmer Swanson Classic, providing a partial squad of Lyons a healthy dose of competition in their first outdoor meet in 10 months.
The non-scoring meet featured athletes from a host of teams, including Bowdoin, Connecticut College, Endicott, Fitchburg State, New Haven, Roger Williams, RPI, Salve Regina, UMass-Dartmouth, Wesleyan and Western New England.
Mount Holyoke's competitors included:
- Senior Sarah West (Concord, N.H.) placed 20th among 50 competitors in the 1,500 meters, with a time of 5:07.42. Senior Katie Earle (East Kingston, N.H.) took 37th place in the event in 5:29.68.
- Sophomore Bridget Hughes (Easton, Mass.) placed 12th out of 20 runners in the 800 meters with a time of 2:35.70. First-year Amina Kudaibergen (Astana, Kazakhstan) finished 19th (3:18.49).
- Junior Zivaishe Jaravaza (Harare, Zimbabwe) placed 22nd out of 29 runners in the 400 meters (1:07.62), while first-year Jules Markee (Easthampton, Mass.) placed 26th (1:13.28).
- Senior Kiera McLaughlin (Keene, N.H.) placed 23rd out of 31 athletes in the hammer throw, with a top throw of 24.88 meters (81'7").
- First-year Marin Lambert (Bothell, Wash.) finished 27th among 31 runners in the 3,000 meters (11:49.77), while senior Tess Marini-Rapoport (Northampton, Mass.) placed 29th (11:54.38).
- First-year Sami Yang (Buena Park, Calif.) finished 59th out of 63 runners in the 200 meters (32.84 seconds).
The Lyons will compete next Saturday, March 28 at UMass-Amherst.
