MEDFORD, Mass. -- Mount Holyoke College senior Elle Rimando broke her own team record in the triple jump on Saturday at the Tufts Final Qualifier, in a serious bid for a spot at next week's NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Rimando (Mililani, Hawaii) triple jumped 11.54 meters, or 37 feet and 10.5 inches, on her final attempt at the meet, passing Emory University's Amaya Grant for the best mark of the day among 11 individuals, all competing with the same goal as Rimando's.

The jump passed her former team record of 11.23 meters by 31 centimeters, and for the time being put in her 23rd place in the national Division III rankings in the event.

Rimando figures to be close to the cusp of receiving her second straight NCAA Championship invitation, with accepted entries to be announced on Sunday. The meet will take place at the CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama.

Rimando also competed in the triple jump at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships last May.
