BOSTON -- The Mount Holyoke track and field team sent six athletes to compete in four events at the New England Division III Indoor Championships Sunday at The Track at New Balance, with senior Elle Rimando winning All-New England honors in the triple jump.
Rimando (Mililani, Hawaii) placed eighth among 24 competitors in the triple jump with a top effort of 10.96 meters (35'11.5"), earning a team point for Mount Holyoke that put the Lyons in a three-way tie with Wellesley and Johnson & Wales for 32nd place among 34 scoring teams.
Rimando also competed in the long jump, placing 21st with a top jump of 4.98 meters (16'4.25").
Mount Holyoke ran in both the distance medley and 4x800 relay races:
Sophomore Sachi Robinson (Staten Island, N.Y.), junior Dalia Luckhardt (Cerritos, Calif.), sophomore Bridget Hughes (Easton, Mass.), and senior Sarah West (Concord, N.H.) ran the 4x800 relay in 10:15.52 to finish 20th out of 22 teams running the event. The Lyons' time was 0.96 seconds outside of a program all-time top-10 mark.
Mount Holyoke also took 18th place in the distance medley relay in a time of 13:35.77, with sophomore Annika Lackstrom (Lebanon, N.H.) running the leadoff 1,200-meter leg, followed by Hughes in the 400-meter leg, Robinson in the 800-meter leg, and West in the anchor 1,600-meter leg.
