NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Mount Holyoke senior Elle Rimando took first place in both the long jump and triple jump to lead the Lyons at the MHC-Smith-Wellesley-Bryn Mawr Quad Meet held Friday evening at Smith College.

Rimando (Mililani, Hawaii) recorded a new personal best in the indoor long jump with a winning mark of 5.27 meters (17'3.5"), 16 centimeters beyond the runner-up. In the triple jump, Rimando's top effort of 11.20 meters (36'9") won the event by 29 centimeters and was a centimeter shy of her season-best mark.

The two event wins were worth 10 team points for the Lyons in the meet's 5-3-2-1 scoring system. Mount Holyoke tied with Bryn Mawr for third place in the final standings, with 13 points apiece.

Sophomore Sachi Robinson (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Bridget Hughes (Easton, Mass.) were responsible for the Lyons' other points. Robinson placed third in the 400 meters in 1:01.37, while Hughes scored a point in the 600 meters in a career-best time of 1:47.80.

Mount Holyoke was just out of the scoring with five fifth-place finishes: junior Zivaishe Jaravaza (Harare, Zimbabwe) in both the 60 meters (8.59 seconds) and the 200 meters (29.48), sophomore Katherine Herring (Lebanon, N.H.) in the 1,000 meters (3:18.81), senior Sarah West (Concord, N.H.) in the 3,000 meters (11:03.22), and junior Dalia Luckhardt (Cerritos, Calif.) in the high jump (1.23 meters).
